Alaior as a Holiday Destination

Alaior is known for its long-standing production of high-quality dairy products, and the famous Menorcan cheese is a must-try when visiting Alaior. Originally a Moorish settlement, the hillside town of Alaior has beautiful narrow winding streets and whitewashed houses giving a distinctly medieval feel. You can enjoy exploring this beautiful town by day and dining in its restaurants by night. The nearest beaches of Son Bou and Santo Tomàs which are only a short drive away, are both long and sandy and have a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and bars close by. The area between these two locations is an environmentally protected stretch of coastline (la costa de Alaior) and perfect for walking. Just up the coast are located some of the most idyllic calas in Spain, Cala Macarella and Cala Macareletta.
