Binibeca Vell is connected to the more traditional Menorcan village of Binibeca, or Binibequer, by a beautiful sweep of shoreline and the beach of Cala de Binibeca. This area is known for its wonderful, sandy beaches, including Binissafuller, Cala Biniparratx, Cala Biniancolla, and Alcaufar. All of these beaches are just a short drive away from Binibeca Vell, making it an excellent location for beach lovers. You can also take a ride on the ‘Binibeca Land Train’ that runs between Binibeca and Punta Prima in the high season. It isn’t free of charge, costing around €7 for a return ticket, but has a variety of pick up and drop off points between the two destinations. Binibequer is an ideal location for exploring the east side of the island of Menorca, especially on foot or on a bike along one of the many tranquil tracks that criss-cross the area. If you like to walk or hike then you can join the Camí de Cavalls, a historical 185km trail that is thought to have existed since the 14th century, popular with hikers, horseback riders and mountain bikers.

Cala Torret is also just a short walk away. This small village has several restaurants overlooking the sea, a small supermarket and the option to swim from the rocks. The nearby village of Son Ganxo is also worth a visit, with its pretty fishing village and selection of restaurants overlooking the water. Punta Prima, a beach resort, is also just along the coast, with a large sandy beach, a pharmacist and a selection of restaurants, shops and local bars.

If you want to explore more of the island of Menorca while staying on holiday in Binibeca Vell, it only takes around 40 minutes or so to drive from Binibeca Vell to the north coast of the island, and car hire gives you the means to easily visit any destination you desire, although its best to pre-book a car with us at the time of booking your villa due to limitations placed on the number of cars allowed on the island. With a car and a Menorca map, you’ll be free to roam the island, visiting popular spots like Ciutadella, Mahon, Sant Lluis or even Menorca’s animal park, water park, nature reserve, all perfect for entertaining children during family holidays.
