Many of our Spain rental houses also boast exceptional features, such as direct access to the sea or beach, private moorings, or balconies and terraces that offer magnificent views of the sea or spectacular Menorcan countryside. Travel to Menorca as a family and stay in one of our fantastic villas ideal for larger groups and you are guaranteed to enjoy one of the best family holidays in Spain’s beautiful Balearic Islands.
Whether you are searching for the ideal summer holiday destination during July or August while your children are off school or are searching for the perfect villa to celebrate a special occasion with the whole family, Menorca is the one of the best destinations for a luxury family holiday in Spain. Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, Menorca has become a sought-after destination for those looking to create lasting memories with their loved ones. Here’s the lowdown on why Menorca is one of the most spectacular places for families to travel to together.
Menorca is famous for its stunning beaches, which are not only some of the most beautiful in the Balearics, but also the cleanest, making it one of the best family beach holiday destinations. From secluded coves to wide sandy stretches, Menorca prides itself on protecting its natural landscape. Many of the beaches have gentle gradients down to the water and the sea itself is calm and crystal clear in many locations across the island, perfect for children to enjoy safely. A boat excursion or private boat charter is a great way to explore the island's beautiful coastline.
Unlike its lively neighbouring Balearic Islands, Ibiza and Majorca, Menorca offers a more peaceful and laid-back atmosphere, making it an increasingly popular choice with travellers. With its clean, sandy beaches, charming villages of white-washed houses and perfect setting for enjoying the water, Menorca is ideal for families looking to escape the crowds and relax while also enjoying a bit of adventure.
Menorca is filled with activities to enjoy as a family or group. With its clear, calm waters and gentle breezes, Menorca is a great destination for water sports enthusiasts of all ages. You can try your hand at sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, or paddle-boarding, or simply go snorkelling in the crystal-clear sea. There are many companies offering activities around the island, with tandem kayaks and two-person paddle-boards ideal for children to join parents. Menorca is also perfect for outdoor activities on land, from walking and hiking to bike rides and horseback riding.
Menorca has a rich history that dates back to prehistoric times, so there are many archaeological sites and historic port cities like Ciutadella or Mahon to explore. Museums and art galleries provide cultural interest and Menorca also boasts some fun family attractions including zoological and water parks! The island is small, so getting around by car hire is convenient. With a car you are free to explore all of the island’s fabulous attractions.
Menorca is known for its delicious cuisine, which combines Mediterranean flavours with local ingredients. You can enjoy fresh seafood, paella and locally grown fruits and vegetables, and a variety of other traditional dishes. There is also a vibrant restaurant scene offering cuisine from all over the world, as well as pizzerias, creperies and gelato shops that kids will love!
Menorca welcomes families with open arms, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, historical charm, and activities for travellers of all ages. Book your family holiday in one of our Menorca villa rentals and create unforgettable memories with your loved ones.
