Entering through the property’s large oak door, guests will discover an impressive entrance hall featuring a grand staircase and vaulted ceilings. The house boasts excellent amenities and furnishings of exceptional quality, showcasing attention to even the minutest details. The spacious open-plan kitchen and dining room feature a dining table overlooking the private terraced courtyard and pool. Two beautiful sitting rooms feature high, vaulted ceilings, while six splendid double bedrooms and a twin accommodate a total of fourteen guests. On the third floor, guests can enjoy access to a roof terrace affording views of the historic town of Ciutadella.
Villa B in Ciutadella, Menorca, Spain revamps an old structure into a contemporary villa, blending old and new. The villa is built on the remains of an abandoned building and brings new life to the space. Villa B was restored and renovated by renowned architect Anssi Lassila to work in harmony with the surrounding old city. The existing structure was carefully peeled back to highlight the qualities of the original building, with new elements kept to a minimum. The renovation created a new spatial order, with shared spaces in the middle and private rooms in the taller side parts. Three stairways connect the public and private floors, with old vaulted ceilings left exposed and new wooden beams adding warmth. Generous openings and balconies provide light and a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. Sustainable materials were used, including local stone and Nordic spruce, with solar energy for heating and cooling.
