Vogue’s Guide to Menorca

7th July 2023

Vogue recently dubbed Menorca as one of the hottest holiday destinations to travel to this summer! Just 130 miles off the coast of Spain, "the Balearic island of Menorca holds an immediate charm with its rocky coves, white-sand beaches, and rolling valleys unrivalled in their beauty. For decades, the island was long overlooked in favour of its glitzier neighbours Ibiza and Mallorca, veritable European hotspots known around the world. But it’s now Menorca’s laid-back appeal and sense of spaciousness that’s attracting travellers to the island" - Michaela Trimble.

"Renowned for its restored farmhouses, sophisticated vineyards, and whitewashed medieval villages, travellers seeking the tranquillity of its tucked-away coves and relaxed eateries are drawn to this low-profile paradise, where a bygone era of Balearic charm still persists."

Where to Eat and Drink in Menorca

In the article Michaela mentions Sa Punta in the harbour of Cales Fonts for its stunning views and fresh seafood dishes and Smoix in Ciutadella for its dishes based on fresh, local ingredients. She also mentions the picturesque Nonna Bazaar on the outskirts of Ciutadella and its famed DJ sets of an evening.

What to Do in Menorca

In a section called 'What to Do' it seems only natural that she lists the Cami de Cavalls trail, beach hopping and boat trips as the best things to during a holiday on the island. Meanwhile for those who love a bit of culture and history, she recommends exploring the island's ancient Talaotic ruins and renowned Hauser and Wirth Art Gallery.

So listen to Vogue, if they say Menorca is hot this year, then it must be true!
